Dr. Ed Philips

Founder & Operational Manager

Smiling comes naturally to Dr. Ed Philips, a Cosmetic Dentist who has redesigned the smiles for thousands of patients. For the past 20 years, Dr. Philips has been a pioneer in the field of cosmetic dentistry. From his early training at The Hospital for Sick Children, he has continuously strived to blend the art and science of crafting beautiful smiles. He is the world’s first authority to classify Smile Patterns. The beauty of his work is often featured in the country’s leading dental publications. His teaching appointments include Course Director for Aesthetic Dentistry at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Continuing Education and Senior Clinical Instructor for Aesthetic Dentistry for the New Millennium, Niagara College. His enthusiasm for smiles extends far beyond his office walls. Dr. Philips is a recognized international and local speaker and has received numerous awards and honours from his fellow colleagues. Dr. Philips limits his practice to cosmetic dentistry and extensive restoration procedures such as crowns, bridges and implants.

Dr. Robert T. Feeley

Dental Surgeon & Senior Partner

Dr. Feeley is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, receiving his B.Sc in 1977 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1981. His education continued as a staff member of Etobicoke General Hospital where he gained valuable experience in both the operating room and emergency departments. Since becoming a partner in 1986, Dr. Feeley has been involved in many professional, developmental and continuing education programs both as a student and educator. His wealth of knowledge in cosmetic dentistry has been a focus for his appearances on City TV, C.K.C.O’s MORNING MAGAZINE, and most recently on Global’s BODY AND HEALTH. He has even appeared as a guest on the Food Network’s THE SURREAL GOURMET. Dr. Feeley is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Dental Protective Association, an organization formed for dentists by dentists. As an avid athlete you will find Dr. Feeley on the water in the summers, windsurfing and jet skiing, and in the winter on the slopes either skiing or snowboarding.

Dr. Paul Custoreri

Dental Surgeon & Senior Partner

A native of Toronto, Dr. Paul Custoreri received his B.Sc. (Honours) from the University of Waterloo in 1980 and his D.D.S. degree from the University of Toronto in 1984. Dr. Custoreri joined the practice here at Downtown Dental Centre as an associate in 1985 and became a partner in 1987. He has been featured in the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business in an article on “Creating the Perfect Smile” and has participated as a clinical instructor in continuing education courses for general dentists in cosmetic dentistry held at the University of Toronto.An active member on the Ontario Dental Association, Dr. Custoreri attends regular continuing education seminars and keeps very current with the dental materials and techniques. His area of excellence is in cosmetic bonding. A father of two children, Dr. Custoreri enjoys playing hockey and is involved with coaching minor hockey as well. His other interests include mountain biking, gourmet cooking, and appreciation of fine wines.

Dr. Arick Faibish

Dental Surgeon & Associate

A resident of Toronto, Dr. Faibish obtained his B. Med.Sc. in 2005. He received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry Degree in 2008, earning honors of excellence for his academic achievements in the fields of Prosthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Faibish has gained extensive and valuable clinical experience in his years working as a dental officer for the army and has also been recognized with an award of excellence for his work. He is highly trained in all aspects of dentistry including restorative, surgical, endodontic and prosthetic dentistry and always seeks to further his skills and education by participating in numerous dental and continuing education courses and seminars.

Dr. Faibish is a member of the American Academy of General Dentistry, the Canadian Dental Association and Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. Dr. Faibish joined Downtown Dental Centre in 2013 and is an energetic doctor with great interpersonal skills who always puts his patients’ comfort and satisfaction first. He enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 young sons. His hobbies include traveling, playing tennis and swimming.

Shereif Zareif Tawfik

Periodontist

Dr. Tawfik received his dental training from MSA University in Cairo, Egypt. He completed a residency there and subsequently worked in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. During this time, he also worked at his father’s Periodontal Prosthesis Practice.

In 2013, Dr. Tawfik completed his Periodontics Fellowship Program at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Following this, he completed a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies in Periodontology and a Masters of Science in Dentistry at Boston University. His training focused on growth factors and peri-implant tissue development.

Dr. Tawfik maintains a Clinical Assistant Professor position in the post-doctoral Periodontology Department at Boston University. He is both a Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

Dr. Tawfik lectures internationally, has published numerous refereed articles and ‘book chapters’ on the topic of anterior implant esthetics with a strong focus on minimally invasive and cosmetic regenerative procedures.

Dr. Tawfik enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing squash and travelling to different beach destinations where he can practice his wakeboarding skills.
